Grenadier Saxophone Workshop, June 21-28, 2009

The Grenadier Saxophone Workshop will be held June 21-28 on the campus of Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. Faculty members include John S. Moore, Director; Mark Taggart, Conductor; Patrick Meighan, Chamber Music and Krista Wallace-Boaz, Collaborative Piano, and Walter S. Hartley, distinguished composer-in-residence. Activities for participants will include Saxophone Orchestra, chamber groups, performing with piano, masterclasses and discussions of topics pertaining to the saxophone. Composers and pianists are also welcome to study with Dr. Taggart or Dr. Wallace-Boaz. Composer participants will have lessons, rehearsals, concerts and the opportunity to have their music performed. Pianists will have the opportunity to work with saxophonists in chamber settings and be coached by Dr. Wallace-Boaz, and play on the Saturday concert. Concerts throughout the week: tenor & piano, alto & piano, Trio Bel Canto (alto, tenor & piano); Chamber Music by the participants and to culminate the week,Workshop participants and faculty, making up the Grenadier Saxophone Orchestra, will present the Final Concert including world premiers of music for saxophone orchestra.
