There are still a few spots available (with scholarship funding) for high school students wishing to attend Northwestern University's High School Music Institute. The camp runs from June 28 until July 31 on the beautiful Northwestern campus in Evanston (a suburb of Chicago). In addition to performing in the highly acclaimed wind ensemble, students receive weekly one hour lessons, 2 hours of chamber music coaching every day and get to perform in a masterclass setting for Dr. Fred Hemke. Students will also have the opportunity to hear the Grant Park Symphony and Chicago Symphony Orchestra perform. An integral part of Northwestern University's acclaimed Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music, the National High School Music Institute offers an intimate look at collegiate-level music study and music as a career. With a renowned faculty of more than 100, over 24 performance ensembles, and a myriad of classes, the institute offers an ideally challenging summer to the serious high school musician.
