Dear Saxophonists: After ten years of research and revision, my monograph entitled "Debussy's Rapsodie pour orchestre et saxophone Revisited" is now published in The Musical Quarterly. View it for free by going to: website, then click "research" and "Rapsodie link." or, find it in the recently issued hard copy. This is the complete history of Rapsodie all in one place. Be on the lookout this fall for a condensed timeline of Rapsodie events in Saxophone Journal as well. You can also download a free copy of my dissertation on Edward Lefebre at my website. Enjoy! Sincerely, James Noyes Manhattan School of Music, Precollege Division, New York, NY William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ Music at Our Saviour's Atonement, New York, NY

James, What a fascinating article! And one of the best written articles on saxophone repertoire I've read in years. Congratulations on doing such thorough research, too! I especially liked the discussion of the orchestration and how the Golden Mean applies to the work - completely new to me! Steve

I had the privilege of reading the Debussy document sometime ago and it is absolutely first-rate. The Lefebre dissertation is also highly recommended.
