*****We are extending the deadline on contracts to join the Carter Pann Commission Consortium to fill the last three available spots!

Grammy-nominated composer Carter Pann will be writing a work for two saxophones (S/S or S/A tba) and piano to be completed early next year. Carter recently finished his symphony for wind ensemble "My Brother's Brain" that was commissioned by a group of the best collegiate wind ensembles in the US. He is currently under commission by the the Capitol Quartet for his first work for saxophone quartet. Carter's virtuosic piano skills helped lead to his first piano concerto being nominated for Grammy. Below is the formal invitation from Carter and myself. Please contact me if you are interested in joining us!

NEW COMMISSION INVITATION (SAXOPHONISTS)

MARCH, 2013

Dear Performers,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to join a consortium of performers to commission a new work from composer Carter Pann.

The piece will be for TWO SAXOPHONES AND PIANO

(alto/alto or alto/soprano TBA) and will have a duration of approximately ten minutes.

Fee: $400 (USD) per sax duo ($200 per saxophonist) due by December 15th, 2013

Contracts are to be signed and returned to Neal Postma no later than June 15th, 2013 to confirm your spot - and spaces are limited. The piece is guaranteed to be finished by April 1st, 2014 but Carter is hoping to finish it as early as January.

Each member of the consortium will receive his/her own autographed copy of the score and set of parts.

We are requiring that saxophonists sign up in pairs rather than by themselves. Each member of the consortium will have exclusive performance rights to the piece for one year following its completion and all consortium members will have their names printed in the published score.

Should the work be completed in time for the National NASA Conference MAR 20-23, 2014 a performance has been reserved by Tom Myer, Michael Hester and Carter Pann (piano).

Please direct all questions and intent to participate to Neal Postma neal.postma@gmail.com
