I'm doing a short 5 minute presentation on Cannonball Adderley in studio class on Thursday. I thought it might be interesting to mention where/how he got the nickname Cannonball. I've heard both because his body shape was pretty round like a cannonball and that he ate burgers so fast that people wanted to call him cannibal, but instead cannonball for better public appeal. However, I have been un able to locate a source confirming either one of those possibilities.
Any help would be great
