Assistant Professor of Saxophone
The School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Saxophone to start August 1, 2025. We seek an artist/teacher with demonstrated success and experience working with students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate is a skilled and successful teacher of undergraduate and graduate students and will fulfill duties and responsibilities commensurate with an academic position at a leading institution. Candidates will teach studio saxophone lessons, organize and run saxophone chamber ensembles, and provide academic advising to students. Additional areas of teaching and service may be determined depending upon School needs, candidates’ individual interests, qualifications, and expertise. The successful candidate will join faculty and staff at a minority-serving institution committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications: Master Doctoral degree (or equivalent professional experience). Demonstrated success in teaching at the university level, including a reflective and evolving pedagogy. Evidence of artistic excellence in performance. Established record and/or promising trajectory of research/creative activity. Demonstrated success or commitment to working with students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications: DMA or equivalent Demonstrated success teaching graduate students. Demonstrated commitment to professional service.
