POSITION:

Applied Saxophone. Probationary tenure track faculty position at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 20, 2014.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate required (ABD applicants must complete the doctoral degree by March 20, 2015); applicant must demonstrate excellence in and commitment to classical and jazz performance as both a solo and ensemble artist; demonstrated success as a teacher in both styles is required, preferably at the university level. Salary will be commensurate with teaching and related professional experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as instructor of applied saxophone including an active studio class; coach and administer a saxophone chamber program; teach jazz combo and improvisation courses.  Other courses and responsibilities are possible according to candidate interest and departmental need. Participate in recruiting, research and scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.
