USAF Academy Band opening

There is currently a saxophone opening in the USAF Academy Band's Falconaires jazz ensemble. Don't let the name fool you - we are all hired paid professional musicians, almost all of us with music degrees, about half with masters' degrees. The Falconaires is one of two premier Air Force jazz bands (the Airmen of Note is the other). Pay starts at E-6, or Technical Sergeant. The duties will also include playing sax in the concert band and marching band. For more details, email one of our audition coordinators: Master Sergeant Eric Thomas, email; or Master Sergeant Tim Allums, email. -Ryan Janus

Ryan, What chair is opening up? I emailed the addresses listed and haven't heard anything yet.

We're auditioning for a bari sax chair, though we've been known to rotate the chairs in the band on occasion. If you're not getting a response from Tim, try Karl Bradley at email. I think he may be the guy heading up this particular audition.

Ryan, what happened with the bari chair? First there was a posting, then it said auditions were in Aug 2010, and then the posting disappeared. What's the deal?
