UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA -- Adjunct Assistant Professor (.5 FTE), beginning August 2009. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. One-year position with continuation dependent upon funding. Direct the UM Jazz Combo program, and possibly additional responsibilities such as jazz arranging, jazz improvisation and jazz pedagogy. Experience/ability/leadership in the areas of recruitment and outreach. Doctorate, or master’s degree with equivalent outstanding professional experience required. Demonstrated excellent undergraduate and graduate teaching experience in applied saxophone, and as a soloist and collaborative performer in both classical and jazz saxophone. Send letter of application, curriculum vitae, transcripts, recording of recent live performances, both classical and jazz, support materials/recent programs and at least three current letters of recommendation, and a video tape/DVD of teaching both classical saxophone and in the jazz area (saxophone, combo or e nsemble).
