UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI – Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Saxophone available immediately .25 Graduate Teaching Assistantship for the 2008-09 academic year • Stipend of $4,904 plus a waiver of all resident and non-resident tuition for all coursework taken that applies to his/her graduate degree program. • Recipient may also enroll for summer classes in 2009 and tuition will be waived. • Special fees such as the student activities fee, student health fee, instructional computing fee, and applied music fee cannot be waived. • Each .25 GTA is expected to enroll in at least nine semester hours of course work leading to his/her degree each semester. • The appointment is renewable for a second year upon satisfactory grades (B average or better) and satisfactory completion of GTA duties. Duties may include one or more of the following depending on need: • Applied saxophone teaching • Saxophone quartet coaching • Jazz combo coaching • Woodwind techniques teaching • Performance in a wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, or saxophone quartet Strong consideration will be given to those with demonstrated experience in both classical and jazz mediums.
