Does anyone have information about Melvin Solomon, the composer of SONATINA for soprano saxophone and piano, Opus 24 (1979), published by Dorn Publications? Birth-Death dates, where he teaches or lives, influences, info. on for whom this was composed? Any and all information will be appreciated. Steve Mauk

Hi Steve, Melvin Solomon was teaching bassoon at North Texas when I was a TA there in the early 70's. I haven't seen him since, but he had me working on eliminating my Texas drawl by listening to Walter Cronkite every night. Unfortunately, he failed in that regard. Reg
