Bio:  

Rick Smiley
has served as a saxophone private lesson instructor for Forney ISD since 2011.
He is also on faculty at Tarrant County College where he teaches saxophone and
music history classes of both classical and jazz traditions. Mr. Smiley has
earned a B.M.E. degree from Cumberland College, an M.M. in Saxophone
Performance from Illinois State University and has studied towards the D.M.A.
in Saxophone Performance at The University of North Texas. He has studied
saxophone with Ed Bingham, Eric Nestler, Jim Riggs and Eugene Rousseau.                                        



     Mr. Smiley is an active performer in both
the classical and jazz idioms. He plays regularly with the Tarrant County
Faculty Jazz Combo and performed Die M
115%;mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-latin">u115%">de in a
concert featuring the works of Joseph Klein. Other recent performances include
area productions of Hairspray, as a
featured soloist with the Texas Wesleyan University Wind Ensemble and with The
New Texas Symphony Orchestra  for Bizet’s  L’Arlessienne Suite No. 2.
