Bio:

Described by New York Concert Review as “A knockout performance”, saxophonist Wonki Lee, feeling equally at home in traditional and contemporary repertoire, has distinguished himself as one of leading saxophonists of his generation. His recent appearances include recitals at La Plantation in Beijing, Yamaha Seoul, Yamaha Osaka, and the Lincoln Center in New York. Mr. Lee is also an avid orchestral saxophonist. He has collaborated numerous conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Robert Spano, and Philippe Entremont. He has appeared with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra lead by Eiji Oue as they launched their 100th Anniversary World Tour at Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Lee has received Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music in saxophone performance from Manhattan School of Music. Mr. Lee currently serves as a principal alto saxophonist in New York Wind Orchestra. Mr. Lee is a Si-Yo Artist™ and an endorsing artist of Yamaha Japan.
