Dr. Taylor Barbay Assad is currently the Visiting Instructor of Saxophone, Flute, and Jazz at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. She has performed in France, Scotland, Croatia, New York, Chicago, and all over the United States. She has premiered works for solo saxophone, saxophone and electronics, saxophone duo, and chamber ensembles at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, New Music DePaul, the Electric LaTex Festival, at the World Saxophone Congress, and at North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial and Regional Conferences. Dr. Assad has performed with the Four Tops, Johnny Mathis, the Harry James Jazz Orchestra, Ocala Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Minos the Saint, and New World Funk. She has degrees with concentrations in Music Education, Music Performance, and Arts Administration. Her primary teachers include Griffin Campbell, Jonathan Helton, and Geoffrey Deibel. She is a Vandoren Regional Artist and performs exclusively on Selmer saxophones. |
