Praised by the Tacoma News Tribune for his “effortless lyricism” as well as his “smooth tone and fluid virtuosity,” saxophonist Erik Steighner has performed with ensembles including the Austin Symphony Orchestra, the Federal Way Symphony, the Northwest Sinfonietta, the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony, and Symphony Tacoma. Steighner has served on the faculty of Texas State University and currently teaches at Pacific Lutheran University and Tacoma Community College. He is also on faculty at the University of Puget Sound Community Music Department and is founder and conductor of the South Sound Saxophone Ensemble. Steighner holds bachelor’s degrees in music and English from the University of Puget Sound and master’s and doctoral degrees in saxophone performance from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a Conn-Selmer artist and plays on Selmer Paris saxophones and mouthpieces.

Agela Draghicescu



Pianist Angela Draghicescu has performed as a recitalist and chamber musician in major concert halls across North America, and throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Recent engagements have included performances at Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, the Kennedy Center, Kaufmann Center, Konserthus in Stockholm, Rudolfinium in Prague, and the George Enescu Philharmonic. She is regularly invited to perform with members of the Chicago, New York, and London Symphonies. Deeply committed to expanding the chamber music repertoire, she has commissioned and premiered works by composers William Bolcom and Jennifer Higdon. A proponent of the works of Enescu, she is one of the appointed pianists of the George Enescu International Competition, having been selected under the artistic direction of Zubin Mehta and Vladimir Jurowski.
