Ensemble Bio:

Duo Charbonneau was formed in late 2012 with one of their first performances being the concurrent world premier of Ida Gotkovsky’s Incandescence pour Saxophone Ténor et Piano. Subsequent performances of this work in France and Germany solidified the duo’s collaboration as they have continued to perform together ever since. The duo takes pride in working closely with young and established composers on new works for saxophone and piano. This has lead to new works by composers such as Kevin Timothy Austin, Gil Dori, Michael Markowski, and Roger Przytulski. Most recently, the duo gave the European premier of Kevin Timothy Austin’s 13 Dreams of the Lotus for Alto Saxophone and Piano at the 2015 World Saxophone Congress and Festival in Strasbourg, France and the North American premier of All at Sevens and Eights for Tenor Saxophone and Piano at the 2016 NASA Biennial Conference in Lubbock, Texas.
