Bio:
As 
South Africa’s leading concert saxophonist, Matthew is passionate
about developing music education in South Africa through the
training of teachers and students throughout the country. Matthew
is co-founder of the South African National Saxophone
Symposium, which is an annual event that aims to enrich
saxophone education, and share knowledge to participants from
across the country. Matthew has performed as soloist with numerous South African orchestras
, and the UCLA Philharmonia in the US. As an active
chamber musician, Matthew performs regularly with the
Integration Trio, the Moya Saxophone Quartet, Chika Inoue (US)
. In the US,
Matthew serves as the Gluck Music Outreach Coordinator, as well
as the UCLA Graduate Woodwind Teaching Assistant
. Matthew has released a CD in collaboration
with Niel van der Watt, which includes all the composer’s works
for saxophone and various chamber ensembles. Matthew is a
Henri Selmer Paris Artist, and plays exclusively on Selmer Paris
saxophones, mouthpieces, and reeds.
