Bio: | ~Nois is an award-winning saxophone quartet from Chicago, IL. Known for its “masterclass-level demonstrations of precise articulations and glowing legatos” (I Care if You Listen), “truly innovative musicianship,” and “raw creativity” (Cacophony Magazine), the group blurs the boundaries between contemporary classical music and experimental improvisation. Winners of the Silver Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition (2017) and Second Prize in the Open Division of M-Prize (2018), ~Nois has been a featured guest artist at the University of Chicago, the Manhattan School of Music, and Princeton University. In recent seasons, ~Nois has performed with Eighth Blackbird, the Bang On A Can All-Stars, flutist Claire Chase, and indie rock band My Brightest Diamond.
