Bio:

Chris Beaty is Associate Professor of Saxophone at Texas A&M University-Commerce, teaching applied saxophone lessons, coaching quartets and conducting the saxophone choir. Additionally, he directs Jazz Ensemble I and teaches courses in jazz improvisation, pedagogy and history. He holds degrees from the University of Memphis (DMA-saxophone performance), University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (MM-saxophone performance) and Austin Peay State University (BS-music education). His principal teachers include Allen Rippe, Rick Van Matre, and Stephen Clark.

Prior to his appointment at Texas A&M University-Commerce Dr. Beaty held teaching positions at Eastern New Mexico University and Austin Peay State University. 

Ensemble Bio: DDAT consists of four talented musicians. - Chris Bidtah (vocals), Delbert Anderson (trumpet), Nicholas Lucero (drums) and Mike McCluhan (bass).  All touring artists both nationally and internationally - one impromptu group performance at a festival sparked the fire that has burned across the country and is now known as DDAT.  Music from the quartet has been heard all over the world with features on National Public Radio (NPR), Sirius XM, Indian Country Today, SAY Magazine, Weeky Alibi, and many more.  DDAT tours include several West Coast Tours, Canada's Music is Medicine Tour, Aboriginal Music Week Tour in Canada, and Van's Warped Tour - USA.
