Bio:  Nathaniel Berman (MA, saxophone, NYU; BM, woodwinds, Michigan State) is
Assistant Professor of Woodwinds and Music History at East Central
University in Ada, OK. He is currently a doctoral candidate at
University of Northern Colorado. He performs regularly with Madera
Winds, which won the Great Southwest Flute Fest chamber music
competition and has engaged in numerous commissioning projects. He is
also a regular member of Ambrosia Flute Trio, which was featured at the
2015 Festival Internacional de Flautistas in Peru. Nathaniel has
performed as guest artist on saxophone, flute, and clarinet at the Aspen
Music Festival, and on contrabass saxophone at Northwestern University.
Orchestrally, he has recently been a member of Colorado MahlerFest
Orchestra, Midtown Arts Center Theater Orchestra, Las Cruces Symphony,
Greater Lansing Symphony, and many musical theater productions.   
Ensemble Bio:  Madera Winds is a woodwind duo made up of members Alexandra Aguirre and
Nathaniel Berman.  They have been heard in recital throughout the United
States and in Europe, where most recently they performed a recital at
the 17th World Saxophone Congress and
Festival in Strasburg, France.  They were recently featured as guest
artists at the Oklahoma State University Saxophone Summit.  They have
also performed at the North American Saxophone Alliance National and
Regional Conferences in Oklahoma, Nevada, Georgia, South Carolina, and
New Mexico.  They have also performed multiple times at the
International Saxophone Symposium and the National Flute Association
Convention.  Together they have commissioned several new works for flute
and saxophone.  They won the Great Southwest Flute Fest chamber music
competition and University of Northern Colorado Gala Competition.
