Bio:

Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, saxophonist David Stambler is a veteran of thousands of professional performances – classical recitals, jazz, appearances as a symphonic soloist, and “on-call” engagements with many orchestras including the Baltimore Symphony, the Annapolis Symphony, the Bay Atlantic Symphony, the Richmond Symphony, the National Gallery Orchestra, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Harrisburg Symphony, and others. He has recorded with Baltimore Symphony, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the capitol quartet and has played clarinet and saxophone on dozens of nationally broadcast radio and television commercials and soundtracks in the U.S.

Stambler received his Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone from The University of Michigan, where he was a student of Donald Sinta. He holds the Master of Music degree from the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, and the Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Maryland.  He is currently Professor of Saxophone at Penn State University.

Anthony Costa

Clarinet

Bio:

Dr. Anthony J. Costa is associate professor of clarinet at Penn State and clarinetist with the Pennsylvania Quintet, the Prestige Clarinet Quartet, and the Chihara Trio.

Costa served as utility clarinetist/bass clarinetist with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Dayton Opera Orchestra, performed as principal clarinetist of the Music at Penn’s Woods Festival Orchestra since 2009, performed with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Columbus (OH) Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Lancaster (OH) Festival Orchestra, Erie Chamber Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Wheeling (WVA) Symphony Orchestra. 

Costa attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and received a bachelor of music degree in music education and clarinet performance. He received his master of music degree in clarinet performance from Temple University in Philadelphia and his doctorate of musical arts degree from The Ohio State University.
