Bio:

Described by noted American composer Libby Larsen as “fearless on stage,” saxophonist Stephen Page has garnered international prominence as one of the leading saxophonist’s of today’s younger generation

Well known for his interpretations of the great original works for saxophone, Stephen has also gained acclaim for his innovative arrangements of the violin repertoire, and for the commissioning of composers such as John Mackey, David Maslanka, David Rakowski, Ida Gotkovsky, David Canfield, Mark Lewis, Greg Wanamaker, and Mark Mellits, among others.

As a member of the critically acclaimed Zzyzx Quartet, Stephen has appeared internationally in venues both public and academic. Zzyzx has performed on an opening Gala Concert of the NASA Biennial Conference and was featured at meetings of the World Saxophone Congress in St. Andrews, Scotland and Strasbourg, France.

Stephen Page currently resides in Texas and teaches at the Butler School of Music within The University of Texas at Austin.

Ensemble Bio: The University of Texas at Austin Saxophone Ensemble is comprised of students from the saxophone studio in the Butler School of Music, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Page.
