Ensemble Bio:

Lotus is a trio that formed in the fall of 2017 by three active saxophone performers and educators. The trio desires to advance saxophone chamber music by expanding the current repertoire. One of the goals of the ensemble when commissioning original works is to have numerous combinations of the standard saxophone quartet between the three members of the trio. Currently, Lotus has commissioned new works from composers Matthew Kennedy, Spencer Arias, Ethan Cypress, and others. In addition, members of Lotus have created original arrangements of masterpieces ranging from the baroque era to pieces written in the twentieth-century.  Lotus enjoys sharing their music by performing for diverse audiences in conventional and unconventional venues. They hope to continue as a group and the advancement of the saxophone trio repertoire as they begin their professional careers. The members of Lotus are doctoral students of Dr. Christopher Creviston at Arizona State University.
