Douglas Tiller is a multi-instrumentalist hailing from Athens, Georgia. Active throughout the Piedmont region, Douglas has taught various woodwinds in high schools around Atlanta and has performed in Athens area festivals. As a member of the Centennial Quartet and Augmented Triad, he and his colleagues have placed in the MTNA Georgia and Southern Divisions Chamber Competitions and the Georgia State University Honors Recital, in addition to presenting at the International Navy Band Saxophone Symposium. Eager to make new music, Douglas regularly collaborates with composers on solo and chamber projects

Douglas is currently working on his Bachelor of Music at Georgia State University under the guidance of Jan Berry Baker. He has performed in masterclasses for renowned artists such as Gerard McChrystal, Carrie Koffman, and Roomful of Teeth. Through the Snow Pond Music Festival, he has had the opportunity to study further with Gail B. Levinsky, John Sampen, and Frederick L. Hemke.

Ensemble Bio: Lauded as one of Georgia State University’s premier student ensembles, Augmented Triad is a mixed woodwind trio consisting of flute, clarinet and saxophone. The trio was founded with the purpose of adding new and adapting old repertoire into a format that is versatile, mobile, and highly artistic, having had eight commissions in its premiere season alone. Now in its second year, the trio is continuing its penchant for commissioning new music, including an upcoming work by composer Nickitas J. Demos. Augmented Triad actively competes both musically and academically; their most recent awards include the Dean’s Award at the Georgia State University Honors recital and 1st place in the musical category at the university Undergraduate Research Conference. Passionate about sharing the possibilities of chamber music, they engage in educational outreach in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
