Bio:

William Malone Bio 2019

 Professor William Malone, is Chair of the PPCC Music Department where he teaches woodwinds, theory, and jazz studies. At UCCS he is an instructor of saxophone, jazz studies and music theory. Mr. Malone is a woodwind specialist with more than 30 premiers has focused on 20/21st Century woodwind performance techniques throughout his career. He has recorded chamber music on the Nuema and Opus One Labels. Currently a candidate for the DMA at The Ohio State, he has earned a MM from the NEW England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA and a BM at Wichita State University. William studied saxophone and clarinet with John Sampen, Joe Allard, Fumiyoshi Maezawa, and Jim Hill. He participated in masterclasses with Fred Hemke and Jean- Marie Londex. In addition to classical study, William had jazz composition and performance studies with Joe Viola, Jimmy Guiffrey and George Russell.
