Bio:

A staunch advocate for new music, Phil Pierick has commissioned more than 25 new works and presented over 50 premieres in Europe, Asia, and North America. Recent recording projects include an album of previously unreleased chamber music for saxophone by Percy Grainger (Naxos) and Invisible Seams (Teal Creek), an album of new works composed for his saxophone duo, Ogni Suono. 

Phil has received prizes at the Jean-Marie Londeix and ISSAC International Saxophone Competitions, multiple MTNA National Competitions, and was named Vandoren Emerging Artist of 2011. 

Phil teaches saxophone at The College of Wooster. He holds a DMA and Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where he served as teaching assistant to Chien-Kwan Lin. Previous study with Lars Mlekusch as a Fulbright Scholar in Austria, Jean-Michel Goury as a Frank Huntington Beebe Scholar, and Debra Richtmeyer (BM, MM, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). Phil is a Vandoren Artist.
