Nick Zoulek is a modern artist of “pure mindfulness and talent” (PopMatters). His focus on collaboration, improvisation, and commissioning new works has led to a diverse portfolio of distinctive performances and artistic ventures. As a soloist and composer, Nick’s craft has been lauded as “a no-holds-barred engine of avant-garde exploration,” (Portland Press Herald) with the capacity to “[take] you to other worlds” (Milwaukee Magazine). His current project, Enter Branch, bridges his solo playing and composition with collaborations from members of Bon Iver, Eighth Blackbird, ~nois, Field Report, and more. Nick has served on faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and currently teaches at Oakland University (sabbatical replacement). He holds a DMA in Contemporary Music from Bowling Green State University with additional studies from the CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt and UW-Whitewater.
