Bio:

Saxophonist Elyse Vest is an international performer, an advocate of new music, and a teacher currently based in Austin, Texas. Ms. Vest has enjoyed a prolific performing career as a soloist and chamber musician. She appeared at a soloist with the Wind Ensemble at the Hartt School, performing Ingolf Dahl’s Concerto for alto saxophone and wind orchestra in February 2015. She toured with the Hartt School’s contemporary, new music ensemble, Foot In The Door, in Reykjavík, Iceland. She was a member of the Hartt School’s premier chamber ensemble, Performance 20/20. In the summer of 2014, Ms. Vest attended the Université Européenne de Saxophone in Gap, France. Ms. Vest commissioned and premiered Dr. Brett William Dietz’s “Heavier Elements” for saxophone soloist and four percussionists in the spring of 2013.



Ms. Vest
holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Louisiana State University and a Master
of Music degree from the Hartt School.
