Presentation Title: The Unification of Saxophone and Didgeridoo Musical Style in a Digitally-Recreated Acoustic Environment

Bio: Glen Gillis is Professor of Saxophone, Conducting, and Music Education at the University of Saskatchewan. Having performed at numerous NASA Biennial/Regional and World Saxophone Congresses, he hosted the 2013 NASA Region 9 Conference, and is currently the director of NASA Region 9. He released SaxSpectrum (2009, MSR Classics) and SaxSpectrum 2 (2014, MSR Classics, and nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award) highlighting new works for saxophone, including his own and other Canadian composers. He can also be heard on didgeridoo.diversions (2007, Hoot/Wisdom Records) and Devotion (2015, Ice Music Press). His musical experience has spanned over three decades in the areas of classical and jazz, having performed in North America, Europe, and Asia, and presented clinics at major music conferences such as The Midwest Clinic and the Texas Music Educators Association Conference.
