Bio: Alex Sellers is a music educator based in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where he teaches adjunct at Oakland University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he maintains a private studio of middle and high school students, regularly gives clinics at middle and high schools and works with a number of non-profit arts organizations in the Detroit area. Most recently, he performed Jake Heggie’s opera “Three Decembers” with Opera MODO in Detroit. Outside of teaching and performing, Mr. Sellers also works as a music engraver, having worked on a number of projects for the Assembly Saxophone Quartet, and was recently appointed the music copyist for Opera MODO. Mr. Sellers holds a MM in saxophone performance from Oakland University where he studied with Dr. Jeffrey Heisler, a MM in music technology and a BM in saxophone performance from Georgia Southern University where he studied with Dr. John Thompson and Dr. Carolyn Bryan respectively.
