Bio:

Joe Girard is Visiting Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Columbus State University where he teaches saxophone and lectures throughout the university. He is tenor saxophonist of the Donald Sinta Quartet, First Prize winners at the 2013 Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York City and is professionally managed by CAG. Dr. Girard regularly performs around the country, having appeared in Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, the Meyerson Symphony Center, and Walt Disney Hall. Internationally, he has given recitals and concerto performances in China, France, Greece, Japan, Scotland, and Switzerland. 

Dr. Girard received his Doctorate from Michigan State University and both his Masters and Bachelors from the University of Michigan. Additionally, he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and applies many of the concepts from the sciences to his teaching and performing. He is a Selmer Performing Artist and performs exclusively on Selmer Paris Saxophones.
