A native of Western Massachusettes, Gail B. Levinsky serves on the faculty of Susquehanna University. She has performed both nationally and internationally, including most recently the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, France. An active proponent of new music Levinsky has commissioned and performed works by notable composers such as, Andrea Clearfield, Matthew Qualye, and Doug McConnell.  Levinsky has produced two CD recordings and authored, contributed, or edited several texts, including Rosemary Lang’s “Beginning Altissimo Method” (Ensemble Publications); a catalog of works written for organ & saxophone (Lyceum Publications, 2013); and the saxophone chapters for woodwind method courses, entitled Teaching Woodwinds: A Guide for Students and Teachers (Mountain Peak Music).

Dr. Levinsky received her graduate degrees from Northwestern University (DM, MM), and from Butler University (BM). During the summer months, Levinsky serves as Program Director for the Snow Pond Music Festival, and teaches at New England Music Camp in Sidney, Maine.
