Dr. Justin Rollefson showcases the diversity and flexibility of the saxophone through exploring unconventional chamber ensembles and actively commissioning new works for these ensembles. In 2014, he founded the Rogue Trio (violin, saxophone, and piano). In 2016, Rollefson founded the Eos saxophone sextet. In 2017, he co-founded Lotus (saxophone trio). Finally, in 2018, he founded Zinnia (saxophone, cello and piano). Rollefson has not only been active in chamber music, but has also appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and wind groups as well as has performed on saxophone and clarinet in the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Rollefson completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance at Arizona State University, where he also completed his Master of Music degree in saxophone performance in 2014. Dr. Rollefsons past instructors and chamber coaches include Kenneth Tse, Joseph Lulloff, Robert Spring, the Shanghai String Quartet, and the Fifth House Ensemble.
