Bio:

George Weremchuk, has been Professor of Saxophone at the University of Central Florida since 1998. He has performed and recorded with such diverse groups as the New World Symphony, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas, and the Sam Rivers Rivbea Orchestra. He regularly performs with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, and the Orlando Jazz Orchestra. He toured Europe extensively with the Broadway musical “Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies”. His degrees are from the University of Miami (DMA), Indiana University (MM) and the University of Massachusetts (BME).

Ensemble Bio:

Formed in 2012, the Orlando, Florida based Hippocrene Saxophone Quartet is dedicated to performing new music for saxophone quartet as well as original transcriptions. They have performed at Central Florida music festivals and at universities throughout Florida. Members include George Weremchuk, Brian Smithers, Timothy Rosenberg and Jeremy Williamson.

Bio:

George Weremchuk, has been Professor of Saxophone at the University of Central Florida since 1998. Brian Smithers

Baritone Saxophone

Bio:

Brian Smithers, has been a fixture on the Central Florida music scene for nearly three decades. During much of that time, he performed in and conducted the Walt Disney World Band, He has performed with the Orlando Philharmonic, Sarasota, and Brevard Symphony Orchestras.  An in-demand recording engineer and author of several books on the subject, he is Program Director of the Audio Production degree program at Full Sail University.



Timothy Rosenberg

Soprano Saxophone

Bio:

Timothy Rosenberg is the Instructor of Saxophone at Bethune-Cookman University and Course Director at Full Sail University. He has performed with the Binghamton Symphony Orchestra and has been a member of the Cayuga Saxophone Quartet, the Hyperbaton Ensemble, and the H2 Quartet. Timothy is also an accomplished recording engineer and producer with several recording credits. Timothy earned his DMA and Master's Degree from Michigan State University. His Bachelor’s degree is from Ithaca College. 



Jeremy Williamson

Tenor Saxophone

Bio:

Jeremy Williamson is currently the Director of Bands at Jackson Heights Middle School in Oviedo, Florida. He also assists in the planning and teaching of the Summer Stetson University Saxophone Workshop.  Mr. Williamson has degrees from Stetson University and Northwestern University, and was a finalist in the Coleman and Fischoff Chamber Music Competitions. Mr. Williamson's previous teaching positions include Seminole State College, Daytona State College, and Stetson University Community School of the Arts.
