Bio: A 2017 Churchill Fellowship recipient, Dr Emma Di Marco is an Australian classical saxophonist and D’Addario Woodwinds artist. She maintains a portfolio career as a performer, chamber musician, educator, artistic director, and researcher. As a champion of Australian music, Emma has toured on multiple occasions with programs of specially commissioned Australian works. Emma is a sessional lecturer in saxophone at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University; operates her own music education business, Emma Di Marco Music; and also holds teaching positions at two prestigious Brisbane schools. Emma is a founding member of the Barega Saxophone Quartet and has performed across Australia and Europe with the group. They released their debut album, Three Serpents, in 2015. Barega were recently featured soloists with the Queensland Wind Orchestra performing David Maslanka’s Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Wind Ensemble. Emma is a casual saxophonist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
