Bio:

Saxophonist Brian Rodesch is an avid soloist, chamber musician, and improviser. He currently serves on the faculty at the University of Minnesota-Morris as teaching specialist in saxophone. He has held positions at the University of Northern Colorado, East Carolina University, MacPhail Center for Music, the Mount Olivet School of Music, Apple Valley High School (MN), and served as an assistant director with the Minnesota Youth Jazz Bands (MYJB). Brian is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Arts degree with an emphasis in saxophone performance and secondary emphasis in jazz pedagogy at the University of Northern Colorado, where he is a student of Dr. Andrew Dahlke. He holds additional degrees from East Carolina University (M.M.) and the University of Minnesota (B.M). His primary teachers have included Dahlke, Dr. Jeffrey Bair, Prof. Eugene Rousseau, Dr. David Milne, Mr. Brian Grivna, and Mr. Greg Keel. 

Ensemble Bio:

The Nexus Duo, comprised of Lisa Perry, clarinet and Brian Rodesch, saxophone, was formed in the summer of 2015 with the intent of spreading their passion for music and collaboration through intimate performances and workshops. Dedicated to outreach and education, the duo frequently appears as guest artists and clinicians at middle and high schools around the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. As advocates for new music, the duo is excited to be working with many emerging composers to produce engaging new repertoire for clarinet and saxophone duo.
